I love a good story. Especially a love story. Or hearing how people have met. I think its adorable!
Whether it is a short or long story, it is yours. It is special. And this is ours…
Fall 2015
Tink and I move into our first little apartment. Our first little nest, in the heart of downtown Milwaukee. We were truly living the single dream for a few months there. Most nights I might not remember but this was just me partying, not Tink lol
AJ Bombers-November 3rd, 2015
I guess for those who haven’t been or heard of this restaurant, it’ll be hard to get a mental image, but whatever, not entirely important. You’ll maybe get an idea from the image below.
Anywho, so this restaurant, AJ Bombers (burgers), has these tracks on the ceiling. They lead from the middle of the bar to specific tables k? These tracks hold little carriers that are shaped like bombs. The bartender puts peanuts in the bomb, pushes the bomb, and it heads towards the table and it’ll hit a target. Once it hits that target, the peanuts drop out from the bottom of the bomb and into a tray at the table, giving the customer peanuts! Fun eh?
Why am I telling you about this detail? Well, Jeisson was the bartender that night. My girlfriend and I walk in, sit down at a table and patiently await our peanuts. Whether you like them or not, they bring peanuts to you. So if you push the bomb too hard, it hits the target really hard and the peanuts go everywhere versus nicely into the dish. Jeisson, who I love dearly, pushed the bomb too hard and the peanuts were getting everywhere. Which in turn, made me annoyed lol.
My first words to Jeisson were, “hey, can you put it in the hole?!”—smacks forehead. I’m a classy lady, I swear. I meant the dish but whatever. But I think he fell in love in that moment in my opinion. I just shouted that to him from our table, no big deal.
Now, from my table, I soon realized that Jeisson was uh, pretty smokin. Once my friend and I were done, I told her she’s not leaving and we should go sit at the bar.
Naturally from there, it’s history. It was pretty dead there so we got all his attention. We also got free custard. WHICH, obvi explains the hashtag. He gave my friend and I a free burger card and happened to specifically tell me his schedule lol.
No numbers were exchanged but thankfully I went back exactly a week later. And I still can’t believe I’m marrying him!!
When we went up to the bar, he told me to come shoot the bomb since I was talking shit earlier in the evening. And we got this gem:

It’s still pretty crazy to me that I have a photo from the day we met. Like, my life was about to change!! This random guy was going to move in with me almost two months after that day! Nuts.
And thank goodness I ditched that chambray top, fit me horribley.
So ya! There’s our story! Pretty random and hilarious.
