Hi loves! And welcome 2017! Crazy huh? I always know the year is coming to an end but it never hits until it is actually Jan 1st of the new year.
How exciting though? Everyone is energized to start new goals and new endeavors. Hopes that the new year will bring all the luck and dreams to come true.
Well I wish this all to you! My reader, my follower, my new guest for that matter!
I am excited to share a crazy cool thing I get to do. Today and tomorrow are reserved for relaxation but deep down I am anxious because I am hosting my first TV segment on Tuesday! I know many local bloggers who do this all the time and blogger friends who do this as well, however, this is my first time so it’s all surreal to me!
Hi there!! It has been forever right? The last week has been so magical! I truly hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas.
I would say, like most people, that I am getting back into the swing of things….but I can not. Because I still have another week off of work! Which feels crazy to me given that I was in NYC the last week or so. However, I will say that BordeauxBlvd has my full attention and is going to be jam-packed with fun things to share with you.
The first, my new hair!
I partnered with a local salon, Get Dolled Up, to try out my first balayage look! And I must say, its adorbs.
Normally I am a low maintenance person when it comes to my hair. I don’t like to have to visit the salon a lot. When I get my hair colored, it is normally just to match my roots, which is a dark brown. So when my hair was at a damaged breaking point and Melissa from the salon told me she could change my world, I decided to let go and try something new!
Left is old hair–Right is new hair
I made sure to ask for a lot of opinions about balayage before getting it. The most common opinion–it only looks good curled. I made sure to express my fears to Melissa, and I think a good color job comes from a good expert. Every stylist has their own technique, so it is important to make sure your stylist is comfortable with the technique and knows how to do it well.
Melissa has been in the business for about 14 years so I’m like, she knows what she’s doing. She made sure it all looked natural and vibes well.
I also have never used Schwarzkopf products before. I know many friends who have tried certain color products and didn’t like them. Me? I have never not liked a brand I guess. From the images though, my hair is clearly bright and looks healthy so I dig it so far.
I think my hair looks great straight with the new color! You can tell I have some technique but it doesn’t look bad straight like the rumors portray.
So I mentioned my hair was really damaged right? Well she used a mask type system on my hair called FIBREPLEX. “Schwarzkopf Professional’s first Bond Enforcing System to protect hair from breakage during the lightening, (high-)lifting or colouring process with bond creation and long-lasting color protection.” Going forward, I know my hair is protected by using this stuff! I was def given a lecture on making sure to protect my hair. oopsie! With this new style though, I want it to be healthy and last.

The best part? I got to watch runway shows while getting my hair washed. It was seriously the best thing ever!!
I was excited to share this given that I have never had such an extensive technique done before. I hope you all like it and if you have any questions, feel free to ask! It’s scary to try something new so any guidance can be great!
