Burnt Orange Obsession & Weekend Vibes

Let me clarify…I normally dislike orange. Really dislike. No idea why this season my color taste buds have been more open to trying it out–with strict conditions though.

Rust or burnt orange is a go for me!

Like I mentioned on IG, I plan to have such a relaxing weekend. We surprisingly don’t have much going on besides a lunch with friends. And brunch…and the Packer game. Okay okay so I have stuff to do, but it isn’t crazy busy so its all good.

I’m sure like most of you, the weekends are a time to take a break from business wear. But that doesn’t mean I want to be a scrub. SO where is the happy balance? Here it is….

Cozy and stylish…the two staples you want in your cold weather gear and your weekend wear.

The slip dress had a great run. I still see it in stores being layered with solid and printed tees. It was such an easy trend and snaps to everyone who indulged. However, the chilly weather is upon us and I don’t want to retire this just yet. We layer! Yay!

I’m finally showing this knit sweater styled and I am still as obsessed as ever. So soft and fun.

I find it hard not to wear it around the house and just generally all the time. Don’t we all love when we find pieces like that?

In Wisconsin, we’re trying to find that balance of staying warm and stylish. The weather literally goes from 50-70 every other day. Its exhausting. So outfits like this give me the perfect balance.

Thank you to everyone and your sweet words for our anniversary! You guys are so sweet. I feel like a year is decently big deal but I can’t wait to share every fun event in our life! Yes, I am on Pinterest daily, hehe.

Our Love Story

Well, 1 year down…sooo many to go. 1 year truly feels like 20. November 3rd is the day we met.

And here is our story:

I received a last-minute invite from my good friend Lola to go out to dinner with her and some coworkers. I’ve been to AJ Bombers before. The grilled cheese sandwich there is my jam. Naturally I went. Little did I know that the bartender would bait me with custard and steal my heart.

This picture is from the first day we met. 11/3/15. Jeisson took me behind the bar so I could try out the peanut launchers. At AJ Bombers, you push these bombs that hit a wall and peanuts fall into a bowl on a table for customers. Then he proceeded to give my girlfriend and I free custard. Thank you Lola for documenting this.

I guess after that its history. I went back, we exchanged numbers, and there’s that!

Anyone who knows me personally knew that I never wanted to settle down or have kids. Today, everyone reminds me of that person and we laugh at who I am today. I never really believed in true love. I was technically single for yeaaaaars before I met Jeisson. Dated here and there but I knew deep down, I didn’t meet the one yet. Even though I didn’t believe in “the one” and blah blah. What does real love feel like? What is everyone talking about because frankly it drove me nuts.

Well, now I am one of those people who tell others that when you know…you know.

This love is easy. Natural. Fun.

We are not perfect. It didn’t start off all magical and stuff. We’ve been apart (distance wise), faced rough times, and of course argued about my shopping habits. But for some reason, I just know…

I know I know….mushy love stuff

This is the man behind the camera in 90% of the blog pictures you see on here. He supports me when I sit on Instagram for hours straight but enjoys the ice cream samples we get when I do collabs. He has this weird ability to just make me a better person and I couldn’t be happier to share our love with you all.

I wish everyone knew what this felt like. After years of dating the wrong people, getting my heart broken and losing all faith in love…to finally find it. It’s all worth it.

I like to be vulnerable with you guys and given that he’s my other half…besides my puppy…I wanted to share what I’ll be celebrating on this fine Thursday.

Trending: Bell Sleeves

Just like velvet, the bell sleeve is a huge trend right now. Whether you get them on a dress or blouse, long or 3/4 sleeve, loud or minimal…you can rock it!

I feel like I saw the bell sleeve last year too but apparently brands are pushing for it this season more than ever. Thanks runway! As always, you can rely on me to provide crazy affordable options for you…this dress…$20.

I can’t help that Forever 21 just does great things for us.

I’m very picky about taupe so I made sure to shop a little extra for the perfect OTK boots. Although the dress is cheap, I advise to invest in good OTK boots because I assure you, they will be worth the splurge. You will wear them pretty frequently in the months to come. However, Target does have a pair right now for $50 so maybe go try those.
